Wallings dam to Signal hill

Level:       Easy
Duration:  1 hr
Elevation: 250 meters  (from the dam)

Picture

This short hike starts at Wallings Dam, at the top of Fig Tree drive. It is an easy climb up one of the second highest hill of the Antiguan southern range, along a well defined path. At an altitude of 350 meters, the views from the top are excellent, and span most of the island, as the summit of Signall Hill is clear of forest -  that  makes it easily recognisable from a distance.

From the dam itself at Wallings , follow the trail climbing up the hill. After reaching a small ridge in the forest in about 15 minutes, chose the path off to the left that keeps climbing up the main hill. The other paths lead down to the sea side towards Rendez Vous Bay (see next hike). You will keep climbing for an other 15/20 minutes, till you reach some unusual flat rocks.

Go through a gate and you will reach a  cleared hollow, where a water resrvoir has been dug. Say Hi (or Yo Man) to the resident donkey, and follow the trail for an other ten minutes to the main summit. Enjoy the view, have drink, feel happy, turn around and go back down.
