Rendez Vous Bay is a quasi mystical place, at the head of a lonely dirt track. It is a beautifully isolated spot with an almost picture perfect beach, surrounded by green hills and devoid of any noticeable constructions.
It is easily reached from Falmouth, either by walking the trail that follows the coastline from the western headland of Falmouth bay, or by following the dirt track starting off at the horse riding stables. There is apparently a decent surf spot here as well, and Rendez-Vous Bay is only a couple of miles away from Falmouth harbour by tender.
Cycling to Rendez-Vous Bay takes a bit more then half an hour, while walking there will take at least an hour and a half on the track. Cycling, you will need a mountain bike, even though the track has been much improved by property developers intent on cashing in on the beauty of the area. Just turn off at the horse riding stables, climb up to the ridge and follow the road downhill to the seashore; it is a good climb and a steep downhill. Be aware that the dogs at the very last villa on the left before the ridge on the way up can slip out through the fence and are not of the most friendly sort. After going down on the other side, the track reaches a pebble beach, and follows the coast in a westerly direction, before climbing steeply around a headland (if you can ride up that slope, be proud of it. I can’t, and it is not for trying!!), with a great view over Rendez Vous beach.

Walking from Falmouth harbour headland along the coast to Rendez Vous takes slightly longer, probably 1 to 1 ½ hr each way, half an hour more from the main road.
Leave the main road and head towards the horse riding stables; instead of taking the Rdz vs bay driveable track here, follow the road to the head of Falmouth bay. You will climb up a small hill and dip back down to sea level towards a small isthmus just before the head of the peninsula. Take a right up the hill on the winding road loading towards the villas perched up high. At the spot marked X, a gate in one of the villa fences leads towards the small trail around the headland. The trail starts off going downhill steeply, then crosses a fence where you turn right. Keep going as the path levels off and follows the coast around the headland. You will reach the main Rendez Vous Bay track about half an hour later, and a further 20 minutes walk will take you to Rendez-Vous beach proper.
