Restaurants catering to the tourist and yachtie trade are fairly expensive. With the artificially high EC exchange rate, transport costs and import duties, filling up a shopping trolley does not come cheap... and this is passed on to your lunch or dinner bill.
With this fact in mind, here are a few places that are in my very subjective and poorly refined opinion better then others. Most are in the cheaper price bracket – 10 to 30 US; more delicate palates will have no problem spending more.
Famous Mauro
Just past Cobbs Cross junction, Mauro is a skilful Sardinian pizzaiolo; his restaurant has a simple open air terrace, the pizzas are perfectly cooked in a wood oven, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. It is not cheap, considering it's just pizza, but at least it is good.

Life (On the Corner)
Life bar has now a kitchen and a simple food menu. The birth of the food section of this otherwise pretty nice bar seems to have been marred with problems and looked quite traumatic, ending up in a whole section of the main street being dug up in early 2012. Issues should have been ironed out by 2013, so should they get a decent cook, watch this spot for the new low cost dining option in town.

Mad Mongoose
Fine food is not the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Mad Mongoose. Yet it serves the very best burger and chips in Antigua! At 30 Ec (11 Us) a piece it is by far the best value in downtown Falmouth. The fish and chip is in the same range. Lunch and dinner

Road Runner
This other Italian owned pizzeria just across from the Falmouth petrol station is cheap and good for takeaways. While it does not quite compare to Mauros, the pizza are perfectly good and come at a fraction of the price.
Dinner only.
Rum Baba
Just across the street from Falmouth Marina gates, Rum Baba is a new addition to the local restaurant scene. This unpretentious place run by an Italian lady and a French chef serves good lunches and dinners at reasonable prices in a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Certainly good value and good cuisine, but often full. Bookings advised in the evenings.
Lunch and Dinner. Closed on Saturdays.

Sweet Ts
On the way out of Falmouth, across the street from the Cat Club and close to Baileys' Supermarket this brightly painted fast food serves great burgers, ice creams and shakes. Good food, good value, very local and somehow pleasantly different. Lunch and Dinner |

Trapas
Love it or hate it, Trapas is one of the most popular place in town. Food is sure value and while the use of fancy superlatives to describe the international fare being served here might be an overkill, it is all in all pretty good. You will be in for around 30 USD a head for a full and well lubricated stomach. The only negative is the huge noise level in the tin shack dining room that sits easily a hundred rowdy yachties – atmospheric but does present a slight impediment to communication. Trapas is often fully booked in season.
Dinner only. Tel +1268 562 3534 or +1268 728 2880
The ‘Upper Crust’
Places in the 50 to 150 US a head abound. Some are good, some are bad, many are average. Popular names include Abracadabra, Paparazi, La Bussola, Catherine's, Cloggys, Hamiltons, The Inn, Sun Ra, Le Zest, The Hideout just to mention a few and can range from the relaxed to the downright pretentious; all are certainly best enjoyed in good company.

Lunchtime
Roadside tents offer the best lunchtime value. The one by Falmouth Harbour Marina is supposed to be a good one, otherwise it is just a question of wandering up the main street till you find something cooking that looks good.
Colin's place is an established lunch restaurant across from the petrol station and is popular with locals and expats; at 15 EC a meal, it does not come much cheaper. Otherwise most cafes and bars serve light lunches as well.
